History Of Hope Ministry
In the course of a journey to Denver, the origins of HOPE unfolded. Four dedicated members, namely David Burrell, Martin Ramirez, Don Rodgers, and Chip Hinds, pondered ways to assist fellow church members in securing homes and education. Chip Hinds, serving as the Southwest District Superintendent, coined the name HOPE, symbolizing Homes, Opportunities, Projects, and Education. Upon their return, they discussed the initiative with the COG7 FS board and sought divine guidance through prayer. Following a comprehensive process, the project successfully materialized, resulting in the acquisition of the first home for Brother Gonzalo Marcelino and collaborative efforts with Sister Martha Garcia through Habitat For Humanity. Celebrating its 11th year in 2024, HOPE MINISTRY, led by Brother David Burrell and Associate Pastor Martin Ramirez, now holds approval from the SWD Board Committee.
